We have now been in base camp for a few days and everyone is adjusting. Because we are living at 17,500’, we have some who are feeling the effects of altitude.

We did an acclimatization climb to 18,750’ which was tough but helped to build more red blood cells.

We are building towards doing rotations through the Khumba Ice Field which is intimidating at the very least.

I’m sleeping pretty well considering it’s below freezing each night but is what it is and I’m adjusting.

This picture gives you a great idea of the 2 mile long Khumba Ice Field we need to go through a total of 6 times.
